It works by members paying an annual membership fee, and then only paying for their vehicle use. It is cheaper than both conventional vehicle rental and private vehicle ownership. In addition members have access to different types of vehicles. Each car-share vehicle can replace between 4 and 8 privately owned vehicles.

09/05/2005 - The Online Enterprise Survey deadline has been extended to Wednesday 11th May. If you are struggling with how to fit a few diverse business ideas into one survey, the tip from Stacey is to complete the survey multiple times (once for each business idea)! Any information (no matter how small) is valuable. Even if all you know is the type of business you might like to conduct, and have no idea about the marketing or financial side of things, then please complete the survey and only answer the questions you are comfortable with. At the Enterprise Workshop this Saturday 14th May at 10 am, the survey results will be analysed and discussed and the feasibility of potential businesses will be assessed. Come along and find out what businesses are planned and also what opportunities will be available for businesses and employees. Please register for this event.

25/04/2005 - There will be an Olive Harvest on Saturday 30th April from 1pm and then on to a sleepover before the Governance Workshop on the Sunday from 10am-4pm. It’s the time of year at SomerVille to harvest the olives. There are 13 olive trees in the orchard. They are looking healthy and are ready to have their fruit collected. This process would involve probably an afternoon’s work collecting and then sorting out leaves and stalks from the olive itself. There has been an estimate from Good Authority #1 that there may be about 100kg of olives. Please contact Stacey for more details.
